Apple Set to Introduce iPhone Photo Authentication with iOS 27

It appears Apple is actively developing a groundbreaking feature known as “Apple Reference Image.” This innovative option is designed to authenticate photographs captured using an iPhone, providing a verifiable digital fingerprint of their origin. Dubbed “Apple Reference Image,” this upcoming photo identification system will verify whether an image was indeed taken with an iPhone. How Apple’s Photo Authentication System Works

The authentication process involves securely transmitting several key pieces of information to Apple’s Private Cloud Compute (PCC) servers via a “Reference” option. These include:
