iRobot Roomba Max 876 Combo: The Brand’s Most Powerful Robot Yet

Since Picea acquired iRobot, the pace of new product releases has noticeably accelerated. The manufacturer has moved beyond simply refreshing existing models, now introducing innovative products to its portfolio. The latest addition is the flagship Roomba Max 876 Combo robot, complete with the AutoWash station. iRobot proudly presents this as its most efficient and advanced model to date.

Unprecedented Suction Power: Roomba Max 876 Combo with 35,000 Pa

The Roomba Max 876 Combo is engineered to be the most powerful robot in iRobot’s history. The manufacturer declares an impressive suction power of 35,000 Pascals (Pa) and an airflow of 20 liters per second (l/s). However, the standout innovation is its new SealForce technology. Rather than relying solely on increased raw power, the robot utilizes a unique mechanism where it lowers a panel. This panel effectively seals the space between the robot’s casing and the carpet fibers. According to iRobot, this design significantly reduces air leakage from the sides, directing the full suction force closer to the embedded dirt deep within the carpet pile. The brand states that, when compared to vacuuming carpets without the SealForce system, the new model achieves a cleaning performance that is three times more thorough.

Advanced Mopping with ThermaMist Technology

The second core innovation of this new model is the ThermaMist technology, designed for superior mopping. During operation, the device continuously sprays a heated, ultrasonic mist. This mist works to soften dried-on stains even before the mechanical scrubbing of the floor begins. iRobot claims that this system delivers twice the stain removal effectiveness compared to mopping without ThermaMist. Responsible for the actual scrubbing is the self-cleaning PowerSpin Max roller. Specifications indicate it rotates at an impressive 300 revolutions per minute (rpm) and applies 18 Newtons (N) of pressure. The robot also incorporates AI-supported DriLift technology, which is designed to automatically react when the robot encounters a carpet or rug. iRobot states that the AllergenLock bag within the station can hold accumulated dirt for up to 90 days before requiring manual replacement, offering extended hands-free operation. However, it’s important to note that emptying the dirty water tank and refilling the clean water tank will still be required more frequently.

Seamless Control: App and Voice Integration

The Roomba Max 876 Combo will be managed through the intuitive Roomba Home application. Users can set cleaning schedules, designate specific rooms for cleaning, and define zones that require more frequent attention, such as areas around pet beds. For navigation, the robot utilizes ClearView Pro Dual-Line LiDAR technology, ensuring precise mapping and efficient movement. The PrecisionVision AI system is designed to detect and intelligently avoid over 300 types of household objects, preventing obstructions and ensuring a smoother cleaning process. With a height of 9.98 centimeters (approximately 3.9 inches), the robot is designed to reach under many low-sitting furniture pieces and can effortlessly navigate thresholds up to 3.5 centimeters (approximately 1.4 inches) high. iRobot also confirms compatibility with voice control systems, allowing seamless integration with devices that support Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant. While the price of the new model has not yet been announced, iRobot has indicated that the Roomba Max 876 Combo with the AutoWash station will be available for purchase “very soon.”
