The authenticity of the document was confirmed by the Provincial Children’s Hospital in Bydgoszcz, Poland, to whom we submitted our inquiry. Their response indicated that a resident doctor prepared the discharge summary, and ChatGPT was exclusively used for linguistic correction of the text. Crucially, the hospital emphasized that the AI model had no access to the patient’s data or any information that could lead to their identification.

“We confirm the authenticity of the document—the information card from the admissions department of the Provincial Children’s Hospital in Bydgoszcz.
Based on the information gathered, the ChatGPT tool was not used for diagnosis or to develop a treatment plan. The patient was consulted by a pediatric surgeon, whose recommendations were incorporated into the information card.
The resident doctor preparing the entry, both for the subjective and objective examination, used the medical documentation forms applicable in the hospital. The tool was used to edit three sentences of the patient history for linguistic correction purposes only. No sensitive patient data was entered during this process.
Currently, the hospital does not use AI tools for diagnosing or treating patients. Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are carried out based on applicable medical standards. Digital tools supporting staff work, including those utilizing AI solutions, will be implemented along with procedures regulating oversight principles and the scope of their use as part of the hospital’s project ‘Acceleration of Digital Transformation Processes in Healthcare through Further Development of Digital Services in Healthcare,’ co-financed by the European Union under the National Recovery Plan.”
